Q: How did you find Karen?
Andrea: When I started talking about getting dreads, my hairdresser at the time said that I had to get Karen to do them as she's the dread queen. She's the best in Toronto and the one who does them right.

Q: How long have you been her client?
Andrea: She did my dreads for the first time in December 2003. And 3 1/2 years later I'm still loving them!!!!

Q: Most memorable stylist/client moment?
Andrea: There's a bunch of memorable moments:

The first time Karen did my dreads, I was petrified of her. I had my really
really red hair and the first thing she said to me before anything was "Have you washed your hair? I don't want my hands turning red because there's dye still
in your hair". All I was thinking was this was going to be the worst 3 hours
of my life. Turns out I was wrong!

Also listening to her learn to speak Icelandic on her i-pod. I love the
fact that she has the Icelandic lessons on there!!!

And in general, I love coming to see Karen just for your attitude to life in
general. She's got a passion for life and a get--it-done attitude that I
admire and coming in and listening to her is inspiring.

Q: Any particular favourite style/colour Karen has done for you?
Andrea: My favorite style was definitely the white rabbit ears. I loved the
ribbons around each dread which looked so amazing and the rabbit ears were great!!!(referring to participating in the "Off With Their Heads" hair show).

Andrea works in TV and film either as a production coordinator or production manager. At the moment she's spending the rest of her spare time digging up her backyard. "I now can say I can till and sod a lawn, build a pergula and rip up a patio using lots of power tools!! Power tools are fun!! The big test is laying a stone patio which I'm not sure I have the patience to do...we'll see in 2 weeks".
