Also commonly known as pinch-braid maintenance, this is exactly
what it sounds like.
The string is popped off with a stitch ripper and the synthdread
is removed. For those who don’t already have real dreadlocks,
the shed hair is combed out leaving the natural hair in perfect
condition. The synthdread is reattached in the same manner as the
first application. The only difference during maintenance is the
synthetic hair has already been made into a dread so the service
takes half the time. Synthdreads are reusable over and over again.
Pinch-braid maintenance is recommended every 4-12 weeks for natural
hair and 2-6 months for dreadlocks.
